Why take the Clinical Medical Assistant Fast Track?

There are few industries that offer as much opportunity and stability as the healthcare industry. If you are considering a career in healthcare, becoming a clinical medical assistant may be perfect for you. A career in medical assisting could provide you with everything you’re looking for: a short training period, excellent job opportunities, a good salary, and a professional working environment. Clinical medical assistants are recognized as some of the most versatile and important members of any medical practice.

If you are ready to start a career in healthcare, you’ll find everything you need to become a clinical medical assistant right here!

What Are the Duties of a CMA?

Clinical medical assistants have different duties, depending on the state where they work. They may do basic laboratory tests, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments. They may have additional responsibilities, such as instructing patients about medication or special diets, preparing patients for x rays, removing stitches, drawing blood, or changing dressings. While clinical medical assistants working in a smaller practice may be required to perform some administrative tasks, those working in larger medical facilities focus mainly on providing support services directly related to patient care.

What Is My Occupational Outlook?

Employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 13 percent from 2025 to 2035, much faster than the average for all occupations. The growing older adult population is expected to increase demand for healthcare services, creating a continued need for medical assistants to support healthcare teams.  About 109,700 openings for medical assistants are projected each year, on average, from 2025 to 2035, including positions created by employment growth and the need to replace workers who leave the occupation. The median annual wage for medical assistants was $45,690 in May 2025, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
